...it will all find its way...

...find its way in time...

Botanical Gardens and such

What a beautiful day here in San Antonio - 85 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. We've had several days of rain and storms, so I'm truly thankful for a day like today.

P and I decided to take our houseguest to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens before dropping him off at the airport. With our military discounts, all three of us got in for six bucks - not a bad way to spend a morning! The gardens were beautiful, particularly the Japanese Garden, with its small hills, lakes, and shady trees. Just gorgeous... There's also an overlook area with a little gazebo, and one of the staff told us it was one of the highest places in San Antonio. It did offer us a great view, particularly given how clear it was today. I'd say there were far more bloomless plants than flowers, which was a little disappointing, but it may not be the best time of year for pretty flowers. We'll have to go again in April or May and check it out. Our visitor took some pics and plans to e-mail them to us. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some up soon.

P and I dropped our guest off at the airport, which is always a little sad. Ever since I was a little girl, I always got sad when company left. It made the house feel empty, like there was a void, a missing piece. The feeling always goes away in a day or so, but it's a bit depressing. Fortunately, he will likely be back next month for an interview, so we'll be able to see him again soon. What a great guy...

Anyway, after the airport, we went to Costco - Saturdays are SAMPLE DAYS! Yay - free lunch. Well, not so free - we walked out after spending a small fortune (thank god for paydays). But he was able to add Animal House and The Exorcist to our small but growing DVD collection. Not exactly my first choices, but hey, if it makes him happy...

So I'm feeling a little more confident about my blooming HTML skills. I took a class six years ago, and I'm very rusty, but I remember a few things - enough to add the quote on the left, make a few hyperlinks, and play with the page layout. I'm hoping, over the next few months, to make this page look a little more distinctive. But I'm trying to be patient with myself and give myself a break. So for now, I will take pride in the fact that I gave you a hyperlink to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens web page and leave it at that.
